Course Reserves

Locating Items on Reserve

The library's online catalog can be used to find items being held on reserve for a specific instructor or course. You can search for your class in the Reserve area of the catalog to see available materials. Once an item is located in the catalog, take the instructor's name and the title to the Circulation Desk to check it out. Reserve materials at Allegheny Campus are housed in the Reserve area on the 2nd floor.

Faculty Placing Items on Reserve

Requests for materials placed on reserve can be made at the Circulation Desk or complete the Reserve Intake form and drop off the item at your campus library. Loan periods for these items are designated by the faculty member requesting the reserve.

Loan Periods

Loan periods for reserve materials are typically shorter than loan periods for items in the circulating collection. In addition, reserve items are frequently not permitted to leave the library. Fines for overdue reserve materials may accrue on an hourly basis. See the loan period section of our circulation page for details. Consider signing up for text alerts to help monitor any items checked out on your account.
