Interlibrary Loan can be used to obtain materials that are NOT available at the individual campus libraries. This includes items such as books and articles from magazines and journals. Materials can be borrowed from any CCAC library or from thousands of libraries across the country.
Library users with a valid ID card can use the Library Catalog to place holds on circulating materials owned by other campus libraries. When viewing the record of the item in the Catalog, click the "Place Hold" button, enter your barcode number and personal information. The item will then be sent from the other campus and you will be notified when it is available at your campus. Please allow a minimum of 3 to 4 business days for this service. There is a maximum of 3 active holds for each library user. Note for Faculty: If you exceed 3 active holds, see the Circulation Desk for assistance in placing additional items on hold.
Articles at another CCAC campus can be requested using the appropriate forms available at the Library. In most cases the articles are faxed within 24 hours. To avoid delays, complete the form in its entirety. For students and community patrons there is a 10 cent charge per page for this service.
If none of the CCAC campus libraries own the item you need, you may request it from other libraries using the Interlibrary Loan form to the right. Please allow a minimum of 10 to 14 days for this service. Non-CCAC libraries may charge to lend or copy their materials. You are responsible for all charges; please indicate the maximum that you are willing to pay for the item.
Please contact the Reference Desk if you need assistance.
This form can be used by CCAC students, faculty and staff to request items not owned by CCAC via Interlibrary Loan. Note that some items are required so that we have enough information to process your request.
