PrepSTEP is a comprehensive online tool you can use to improve academic skills, increase scores on placement tests, prepare for standardized occupational exams and build professional skills for the workplace.
Creating a personal account allows you to save your work in progress, store score reports, and revisit any practice tests, tutorials, or eBooks. Just follow these steps:
1. Click “Sign In / Register”
2. Select “Register” below New User
3. Complete “New User Registration” form
PrepSTEP is comprised of Learning Centers which contain online tutorials, practice tests, eBooks and articles to help you achieve academic success and workplace readiness. Topics in the Learning Centers include:
Just enter a couple of keywords in the search box; toggle the checks in the boxes below to filter by filter by the type of material you would like to explore.
Interactive tutorials on numerous topics will allow you to work through a topic at your own pace. Start with a pretest, then navigate through the interactive content, and finish with a post-test to check your new skills. You can focus on the sections you need, save your progress and continue at a later time, and repeat as needed.
Practice tests are based on real exams; they will help you gain confidence and knowledge regarding the type of material you need to know to succeed on real exams. You can take most tests in one of three modes:
Learner mode allows you to view the answers to test questions as you go along, to help you study.
Practice mode displays the time allotted for that test, but if the timer runs out you are not prevented from completing the test. The timer is only intended to help you pace yourself in preparation for real testing situations.
Simulation mode simulates an actual testing environment and is only available for practice tests that are based on official tests. If you select Simulation mode, you will not be able to continue taking a test when the time is up.
Each Learning Center includes PDF files of eBooks and articles that you can download to your computer, your smart phone, or a tablet to read at a later time. To download an eBook or article, simply click or tap the download button.
