Lumen Learning OHM Chemistry for MajorsThis course provides an opportunity for students to learn the core concepts of chemistry and understand how those concepts apply to their lives and the world around them, meeting the scope and sequence of most general chemistry courses. Topics include stoichiometry, thermodynamics, and nuclear chemistry. This course is designed to be taught over a series of two semesters. Based on OpenStax Chemistry 2e, course materials are supplemented by faculty resources developed by Jessica Garber-Morales of Tidewater Community College and Shawn Shields of Germanna Community College. Lumen Online Homework Manager (OHM) draws from thousands of interactive assessment questions to help students master math and other quantitative skills.
Free OpenStax resources include high quality, openly licensed electronic textbooks, nonautomated assigments and test/quiz banks, instructor slide decks, and more. Low cost OHM packages cost less than $40 per student and include the free Lumen Learning resources, automated assignments and assessments, online problem sets, interactive learning activities, and tools to improve faculty-student connections.
