Need to Revise Program Objectives?
Program Objectives should be:
- Student-centered (they focus on the knowledge and skills that graduates of the program should be able to demonstrate), and
- Demonstrable / measurable (they use action verbs – e.g., explain, apply, interpret, create, design – to make concrete and explicit the actions and behaviors that graduates should be able to demonstrate).
- Integrate CCAC’s General Education Goals and/or the relevant industry/national standards

The program has a list of student learning objectives that typically consists of four to eight objectives that articulate what students should be able to do or know as a result of their experiences in the program. Program Objectives should be transparent to students.
The following guide and checklist can assist in revising Program Objectives that may have become out of date.
